"Darkroom and Dearly"
is the name of my little shop and my blog. The name comes from both my love of taking photographs and sketching cute illustrated greeting cards, which you can see here.
I'm a from-everywhere girl; I've made my home in the wide open plains of Oklahoma, the green, rolling mountains of North Carolina, and now I'm starting a new chapter of my life in the misty, mossy woods of northern Oregon.
I live with my fiancee Tanner in Portland. (You can read our engagement story here!) He's a true Southern gentleman from the heart of Georgia -- while I may be from everywhere, his whole world was his Southern home until he followed his heart (and me) out to Oregon. He brings out the irrepressible spirit of youth in me, and is my constant source of support and inspiration.
This is our journey through discovery of Oregon's beautiful places and its stories. Our stories.
I'm a writer, a photographer, a poet, an artist, a backpacker, a sailor, a carpenter, an explorer, a scrapbooker, a daughter, a sister, a skier, a vegetarian, a reader, a historian, and a bundle of ideas. This is my adventure in sharing them with you. I hope you enjoy!

I love your site and I love that you lived in North Carolina (where I grew up and spent the majority of my life) and that you live in Portland (my dream city to live in)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! :)
DeleteI adore NC and I miss it a lot. Portland is also fantastic, though. It seems to be everyone's dream location, but it lives up to the hype!
Hey I really enjoyed your site, I was wondering if you have any suggestions for someone trying to get started with etsy and any of this?
ReplyDeleteThanks
Funny you should ask -- I just wrote a post about what I've learned about selling on Etsy. You can read it here: http://www.darkroomanddearly.com/2012/08/things-ive-learned-as-etsy-seller.html
DeleteI also recommend highly the articles in the Etsy Seller's Handbook if you're just getting started: http://www.etsy.com/blog/en/2012/the-seller-handbook/
Most of what I learned about Etsy in the beginning came from these articles.
I hope that helps! Good luck! :)
I am enjoying your site too, Abd I realize we have some similarities, I love Joes as my husband and I went to Oklahoma state and ironically we just moved to Albany Oregon in august and are getting used to the differences between Texas And Oregon, I look forward to all your helpful tips and posts about Oregon!!
ReplyDeleteThe differences between the southwest and northwest are quite dramatic, aren't they? I'm loving exploring this new region, and it's quite fun sharing the adventures here. Glad you like them! :)
DeleteI have nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award! I really like your blog, your posts and your ideas :)

I am in love with everything you do. Thank you for all of it. I hope you don't mind, but I saved one of your photos of your refrigerator (with the C.S. Lewis quote) as my desktop on my computer. Tea and books are the two things I could never do without.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're enjoying it! Thanks for stopping by. :)
DeleteStumbled onto your site via Cupcakes and Cashmere. I am moving to Portland in June from Chicago. Looking forward to taking inspiration from you when exploring my new home!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!! Summers here are amazing! :)
