{jargon decoder ring}

At work the other day my boss and I were discussing how jobs have so many acronyms these days that it makes it nearly impossible to decode an email that someone from, say, the HR department sends to you. You practically need a decoder ring. So for one of her upcoming meetings the two of us collaborated on a physical decoder ring (with spinny wheels and everything) that helps you figure out what each unknown acronym actually stands for.
Unfortunately, sometimes even the explanation doesn't render a clue.

Fortunately, the internet is always there to help. (It's a series of tuuuubes...)

If you find yourself stuck at work trying to understand complicated jargon without a handy decoder ring (I'll start planting mine in cereal boxes. Hopefully someday you'll find a useful one) simply visit Unsuck It, a somewhat crass but rather humorous everyday jargon converter.

It didn't know a lot of my work acronyms, but that's because I'm pretty sure we make them up to begin with.
